Black Tusk

Black Tusk is a prominent landmark located near Whistler, British Columbia. It is a volcanic peak that stands at an impressive height of 2,319 meters and is a popular destination for hikers and outdoor enthusiasts. The unique black rock that gives the peak its name is a result of weathering and erosion of the volcanic rock that makes up the mountain.

The hike to Black Tusk is a challenging but rewarding experience. The trail starts at the Rubble Creek parking lot and winds through dense forests, crossing streams and traversing rugged terrain. As hikers make their way up the trail, they are treated to breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains and valleys.

One of the most striking features of the hike is the ascent to the Black Tusk itself. As hikers reach the base of the peak, they are faced with a steep and strenuous climb up scree slopes and rocky terrain. But the reward for reaching the top is a stunning panoramic view of the surrounding mountains and valleys, as well as a sense of accomplishment for having conquered one of the most challenging hikes in the area.

For experienced hikers, it is possible to continue on from Black Tusk to explore other peaks and valleys in the area. The Black Tusk Trail is part of the larger Garibaldi Provincial Park, which offers a vast network of trails and wilderness areas to explore.
